Sh*t has been happening! - Keiko Matsui

My apologies for not writing for blog for a you can read title, shit has been happening to me. (Apologies again for the dirty word, if sh*t is considered as dirty)
As English is not my mother tongue, I checked this phrase before I wrote this blog. (I know that it is 4 am and I am googling "sh*t happens" after breast-feeding.)

According to wikipedia - "Shit happens" is a common slang phrase, used as a simple existential observation that life is full of imperfections, either "Así es la vida" or "C'est la vie". The phrase is an acknowledgment that bad things happen to people for no particular reason.

I think that it is quite boring for readers to list up what happened to me. So I won't. The best thing happened to me during this storm was to be chosen to exhibit at the Manly Art Gallery & Museum!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I am so thrilled to be one of the group.

There's not much time left until the opening. But I just want to upload the image of my photo shooting. It is done at my little studio. I wish that Greg Piper takes photos all times as this is very difficult thing, however professional photography is not cheap and I am challenging myself.

  1. Is there a Japanese equivalent to "shit happens"?

    Photos look good at least!

  2. I'm really sorry 'shit happened' and yet, at the same time it is good to know that shit doesn't just happen to me. So I hope that will be of some comfort to you too, at least some time down the track.
    I often find myself doing the same thing, Keiko, quickly checking in the online dictionary to see if what I intuitively feel to be correct is actually right. I think we're doing alright for non-native speakers!

  3. Sorry to hear things have been going bad, Keiko.
    Good luck with the photography though. I agree we can't afford Greg Piper all the time (if at all!) and we're artists after all, so we should be able to take good pictures. I'm just about to have a go myself. :}

  4. Anne-maria, Maria, and Jo! Thank you for your kind comment! I am wiping s*it and start potting again ;-)
