I'm now experimenting with cylinder forms, progressively increasing the height. The last firing was full of slumped works - a little too thin for the height. The work which slumped was around 600cm in height and a few centimetres in thickness. This piece, 380cm, was fine, no problems with slumping.
I have always been drawn to poetry, perhaps because, for me, it is a language that captures emotional expression - the untangible. Such a natural fit with clay – nature’s earth, human emotion. This new work delves into combining my poetry and ceramics.
I love these Avi. I think your poetry is a perfect combination with your vessels. Really look forward to seeing more of it.
