Avi Amesbry- Welcome to Avi's world

How to start? Some form of research has alway informed my work, even before my studies at the ANU School of Art I was exploring the use of clays around where I was living. I was particularly interested in colour responses as a slip, and later (at Uni) as a glaze. What surpised me was the diverse range of colours - blacks, reds, oranges, greens, pinks, whites - and the miriad of hues. I was anticipating mostly browns and perhaps some oranges.

The images are examples of earlier work exploring the use of solid clay, stamping and clay glazes.
